CLAVERIA, Philippines (Oct. 3, 2022) U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 2/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, return to the amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans (LPD 18) after a simulated raid off the coast of Claveria, Philippines, Oct. 3, 2022. The training was a part of KAMANDAG 6 to reinforce tactics and techniques between the different forces. KAMANDAG is an annual bilateral exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military designed to strengthen interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades shared experiences. SEA OF JAPAN (Oct. 6, 2022) An F/A-18E Super Hornet, attached to the ÒRoyal MacesÓ of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27, lands on the flight deck of the U.S. NavyÕs only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), in the Sea of Japan. The Royal Maces conduct carrier-based air strikes and strike force escort missions, as well as ship, battle group, and intelligence collection operations. WATERS EAST OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA (Sept. 29, 2022) An MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter attached to the Golden Falcons of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 12, flies by the U.S. NavyÕs only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), the guided0missile destroyer USS Chancellorsville (CG 62), the guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) and the Republic of Korea (ROK) navy ships ROKS Gwanggaeto the Great (DDH 971), and ROKS Seoae Ryu Seong-ryong (DDG 993) steam in formation in waters east of the Korean Peninsula, Sept. 29, 2022. The Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group (CSG) is participating with the ROK Navy in Maritime Counter Special Operations Exercise (MCSOFEX) to strengthen interoperability and training.
